Ed Roselli, Guitar & Bass Instructor Ed Roselli has been playing guitar for 35 years and teaching at the Music Machine for 20 years. His earliest musical recollection is playing guitar with his uncle. Since then he has earned a diploma from Berklee College of Music, recorded a full length instrumental Holiday Music CD and has studied with guitar greats such as John Finn, Jon Butcher, Kirk Helli and Henri Jobert. Ed’s specialty is Latin pick- style guitar ala’ his musical heroes Strunz and Farah. However, he’s been known to delve into the styles of Joe Satriani, Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads and Joe Perry. His eclectic tastes are reflected in choice of gear: an Alvarez-Yari steel string, classical nylon string guitar and a Fender Strat paired with a Hot Rod Deluxe amp and home-made amplification rig featuring separate components based around a Mackie mixer. Ed’s advice to students is “… always believe in yourself, don't be afraid and remember to have fun, it's easy to forget. Music is a great way to develop focus and discipline. It’s therapeutic.” When asked how to accelerate the learning process he responds, “First you must be in the moment, then you must practice but you must have good technique” Ed is also a Kung Fu Sifu; he exercises and meditates on a daily basis. Hard work, family and friends are the central elements of his life. When asked what aspect of teaching he enjoys most, he quickly responds “Making people happy!” Ed's Policies Ed is available to teach Mon-Wed 3:00-9:00 and Thu 3:00-5:30. His rate is currently $23/half hour. Each student is allowed to reschedule up to four lessons per year beginning each September provided they inform the store ahead of time of the cancellation . (Make-up lessons must be scheduled by Aug 31st). Refer to the website for availability of times for make-up lessons. Students who remain enrolled for July & August will receive two additional make-up lessons should they need them. If Ed is absent, he will provide a substitute instructor. |

John Tolias, Guitar & Bass Instructor John has been playing guitar for 40 years. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from U. of Mass, Boston, and has had extensive studies at Berklee College of Music. He has been teaching students of all levels, from beginner to advanced for 30 + years at The Music Machine. Over the years, John has performed in a variety of bands: Blues, Rock, Top 40, Jazz, and Ethnic. His numerous musical influences include: The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Chicago, Joe Pass, Pat Metheny, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis. He feels that a world of knowledge can be opened up to the student through music involvement, and that the creative skills developed through this endeavor will carry the student towards new ideas, new experiences, and new challenges, not to mention the personal satisfaction.
