George Barnett, Piano Instructor George has studied with jazz icons Jerry Bergonzi and Charlie Banacos along studies at New England Conservatory. He has been teaching at the Music Machine for 11 years and lives in Sharon with his wife and children. He performs throughout the year at the Hampshire House, Seaport Hotel/World Trade Center, BCEC, Omni Parker House, Federal Courthouse, Boston Public Library, Taj Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel, State Room and other locations in and around the Boston area. In 2004 he performed in Boston for the Democratic National Convention. George's Policies George is available to teach Mon 3:00-9:00 and Fri 3:00-7:00. His rate is currently $23/half hour. Each student is allowed to reschedule up to three lessons per year beginning each September provided they inform the store ahead of time of the cancellation . (Make-up lessons must be scheduled by Aug 31st). Refer to the website for availability of times for make-up lessons. Students who remain enrolled for July & August will receive two additional Make-up lessons should they need them. If George is absent, he will attempt to reschedule your lesson or may instead provide a substitute instructor. |

Reena Bates, Piano Instuctor Reena has been playing piano for 35 years. She specializes in teaching beginner and intermediate piano students in the classical style. During that same time period she earned her B.A. in Economics from Boston College, worked in the insurance industry for 12 years, married and started a family that now includes her 14 year old son, 12 year old daughter and husband of 21 years. She has been active as a church musician throughout most of this time with her contributions being featured at St. Ignatius Church in Chestnut Hill and at Holy Cross Church in South Easton where she has been both a cantor as well as choir accompanist. In the meantime, Reena has further developed her passions and talents for music and art by learning flute and guitar. She is a commissioned watercolorist, an avid knitter, golfer and runner. “Teaching piano is my dream job,” says the multi-talented pianist. “My goal is to introduce a love of piano music to my students and encourage them to persevere and challenge themselves to grow as musicians and people.” Reena's Policies Reena is available to teach Wed 3:00-9:00 Thu 4:00-7:00 and Fri 3:00-7:00. Jack Colombo - Piano Instructor Jack Colombo is an active, experienced, full time professional musician. In addition to his piano teaching duties at the Music Machine, Jack is the Musical Director for the legendary vocal group the Drifters. He tours, performs and records all over the world with the group performing their classic hits “Under the Boardwalk”, “Up on the Roof”, “There Goes My Baby”, and “Save the Last Dance for Me.” Jack recently coordinated a Drifters reunion segment for PBS Television that is currently being aired nationally. He composed their latest release “Take Me Back to the Boardwalk”. In addition to the Drifters, Jack’s performance credits include the Manhattan Transfer, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Al Jardin of the Beach Boys, and Michelle Phillips of the Mama’s and the Papa’s. Jack is also the Official Keyboardist for the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. He is the President of Coast to Coast Entertainment and Events which specializes in booking musical performers, and providing production assistance and planning for national, regional and local events. Jack enjoys and plays keyboards of all types including acoustic and electric piano, the Hammond B-3 Organ, and a variety of electronic synthesizers. Paula Greiner, Piano & Voice Instructor • Studied voice with Peter Elvins, Demetra George and Gale Fuller • Coached with J. Scott Brumit and Michael Strauss • Studied Piano with Craig J. Stine • Teaching voice and piano for 27 years (20 years at the Music Machine) Paula has been singing professionally since the age of 12 and is best known in the area for her work as a soloist, accompanist, director and teacher. Although her vocal specialties include opera, art song, broadway and sacred music, she believes that every voice is unique and that sound technique transcends any musical style. She loves to sing and play the piano and is enthusiastic in sharing that joy with others, not only in her performing but also in her teaching. She is devoted to encouraging her students to realize their musical potential through knowledge, performance and hard work! Paula's Policies Pauls is available to teach Mon-Wed 3:00-7:30 and Thu 3:00-6:30. Her rate is currently $23/half hour. Each student is allowed to reschedule up to four lessons per year beginning each September provided they inform the store ahead of time of the cancellation .
