Glenn Smith, Woodwind & Brass Instructor - also guitar & bass Glenn’s musical training began at an early age with the study of classical piano, brass and wind instruments. Glenn graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. While at Berklee he studied trombone with Phil Wilson and Sam Pilafian. He is certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Music Specialist for grades K through 12. He has taught in Norton and Canton public schools as a general music teacher, an instrumental teacher and, in Canton, as the director of the middle school band program. Glenn has also directed and taught in the Guitar Program of the Canton Summer Arts Program. The multi-instrumentalist has also directed the music ensemble at Stonehill College and performed with the Southeastern Massachusetts Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Wheaton College Orchestra. Glenn has also been performing professionally in the New England area for many years in large and small ensembles. These include general business, club work, brass ensembles, big band, concert bands and others. Currently, he’s performing with a number of big bands in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and he conducts as well as plays in the Boston City Band.
