Janice norton

Janice has a BA in Bassoon Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College and a Master of Music degree from The Boston Conservatory. She has studied with Donald Bravo Sr., Edward Gobrecht, and Attilio Poto. Ms. Norton is a member of MMEA and MENC, and has adjudicated various District and All State festivals in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Janice has taught students from the Greater Boston area for over 30 years including musicians from Foxboro, Wrentham, Millis, Brockton, and Norwood. Ms. Norton is a woodwind specialist with emphasis on double reeds, flute, clarinet, and saxophone, and has performed with the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as Wheaton College and Bridgewater State University ensembles throughout her career. Ms. Norton is also a musical theater buff, and has performed in and directed several shows including South Pacific, The Music Man, Oliver, The Sound of Music, and the Pirates of Penzance.

Ms. Norton is currently the Band Director and Director of Instrumental Music in her 23rd year of teaching music in the Millis Public Schools; grades 2-12. She also teaches music education courses, drama, and music history for elementary and middle school students.
